Alf comes to Oak Gables Golf Academy as an accomplished coach and player over the past 16 years as a PGA of Canada member. He has been the Head Teaching Professional at Glen Abbey Golf Club (2016) and Rattlesnake Point Golf Club (2018-2020).
He has helped many recreational and competitive golfers reach their goals. His students have won on numerous different tours including the HHJGT, MJT, CJGA, Provincial Tour, and AJGA. Two of his junior students have been chosen to play for Team Ontario and one player on Team Canada’s National Amateur Squad.
Alf has won 3 PGA of Ontario Tournaments including the 2013 PGA of Ontario Assistants Championship. He also finished 3rd in the PGA of Canada National Championship in 2015 at Cabot Links.
Alf grew up in Ancaster and played his junior golf out of Oak Gables. He’s excited to come back and develop our junior players and to oversee the development programs with our coaching team.
He now lives in Cambridge with his wife and son.
As a member of the PGA of Canada, I am excited to work for the Ross Golf Academy and continue to grow the junior program at Oak Gables. I am a graduate of Eastern Michigan University where I played as an Eagle for all 4 years earning Academic All-MAC Team honours (a combination of top grades and scoring average). As a member of the PGA of Canada I joined the Ross Golf Academy as a teaching Professional in 2018. I am a Graduate of Thomas University where I played on the golf program for 4 years. At Oak Gables we offer many different opportunities to improve your golf game regardless of age and skill level. We offer Junior camps and clinics throughout the season as well as Private and Semi-Private lessons.

Marcus joined the PGA of Canada in 2020. He is a graduate of Alf’s Glen Abbey Junior Competitive Program and has played professionally since 2019, competing on the Great Lakes Tour, Toronto Players Tour and the East Coast Pro Tour. Marcus has a strong passion for the game and understands the skills it requires to become a collegiate athlete and beyond. Marcus plans to use what he has learned in his own development to help his students reach their personal goals.
Marcus will be leading our Jr. Development Program for 10-14 year olds and will be a great influence on the kids that go through this program. He’s dedicated to health and fitness and has a strong understanding of on-course strategy. He is excited to help grow the development program in the years to come.
